UPPSC RO / ARO General Studies: build recall, not a bigger notebook

History, polity, geography, science, economy and Uttar Pradesh context can become an endless list if every fact is stored separately. Begin with a small topic map. Each card should answer a relationship: what happened and why it mattered, what an institution does and how it differs from another, or how a place connects to a river, resource, event or policy.

This keeps your revision useful even while you wait for a live notice. The Commission’s official notification determines the current examination requirements; your recall system should remain useful across cycles.

Close the source and ask yourself three questions: What is the core idea? What is one close confusion? What example or context proves I understand it? Then check what you missed. This is slower than highlighting once and much faster than rediscovering the same gap every month.

Use mixed review. Pair an older polity prompt with a newer Uttar Pradesh prompt and a science distinction. Mixing teaches the brain to choose the right idea rather than recite notes in the order you wrote them.

A low score in a broad subject does not mean ‘revise all GS.’ Look for the repeated cluster: constitutional bodies, UP geography, basic science or modern history. Repair the smallest useful unit and come back with unseen questions. This is how a large syllabus stays manageable.
